The President Barack Obama is a modern day Messiah, come to redeem America from its sins. But the Republicans in their arrogance revolt against the righteousness of the honest man who has the correct message for the Americans to bring back America from the political morass in to which it had been taken by several Republican Presidents and finally by the last of them- George Bush.
When President Barack Obama took his oath as the 44th President, America was facing a financial crisis for which the Republicans were responsible.
The President Barack Obama has within his short time of being the President has taken many progressive moves that the Republican President before him had neglected. The stopping of American torture camps was by itself a great step forward. The Financial crisis that he faces is the making of the Republican Administration, engaging itself in a war in Iraq on a false declaration to hoodwink the people that Iraq was in possession of weapons of mass destruction.
The Republican war in Iraq, and thereafter in Afghanistan have caused an immense loss of men and material. On this score itself the Americans should not place any more trust on the Republicans . Giving the Republicans the control of the Senate now would be a barrier for the present Obama Administration to go ahead with its progressive projects for America, which may have beneficial repercussion to the rest of the world.
Americans lack proper social welfare and that is because the Republicans shy away social activities not to be Socialists. Now the President Barrack Obama is being accused of being a Socialist because he is giving priority to the welfare projects such as the Health Care Bill to help those who are less privileged.
The Americans should be open minded and look at the world differently coming out of their primitive thinking. It is a shame as America that has sent men to the moon and sent satellites to investigate Mars, are as human beings “mentally retarded” . America is behind time.
It is therefore important that the Americans begin to think differently now that they have a Black President, which the world accepted as an exemplary evolution of America into political maturity, projecting itself as an enlightened Nation different from its egoistic selfish and pretentious past.
The White America as a Nation is only about two centuries old, but the land it occupies is much older and was peopled by others who have been almost decimated by their white pioneers. The Americans should not forget them while claiming their right to the land that belonged to others. The white Americans have built their nation on the blood and ashes of the indigenes.
Having become rich planters they contributed to the most criminal of trades the human trafficking. The traffickers stole youth in the prime of their lives and strong bodied fathers and mothers were snatched away from their families from Africa to be sold as human chattel confiscating all their human rights, in the New Orleans Slave Markets. This is the shameful history of America.
Into this nation of Americans now and then a “Messiah” is born. A man who understood the righteous from the wicked, and attempted to change the mental attitude of the white Americans. The President Abraham Lincoln from the State of Illinois, was one such “messiah” that passed in 1863 the Proclamation of Emancipation abolishing slavery. Though he was a Republican, he is a distant away from the” present lot of Republicans” both in time and thinking.
The President Abraham Lincoln wanted to unite the confederate States of America giving the people liberty and democracy. The Americans had him assassinated because the White Americans failed to understand the human goodness in a man who understood the suffering of the people having himself come from a poor family.
After the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln, American whites did not change . Because the White Americans remained psychologically the “ aborigine massacring slave masters”.
In 1950s America was shamelessly racist. The Black Americans had no rights of any sorts. Segregation of the black community was at its height. The Black Americans could not even walk on the same side of the pavements as the whites. The Black Americans were sort of pariahs of the society worse than the untouchables of India. They could not sit in the front seats of buses. They had no voting rights . The Ku Klux Klan which resisted the emancipation of the slaves lynched , hanged or burnt alive the black men with impunity.
The black Americans who were bold to ask for their rights were assassinated. Martin Luther King called upon the black-Americans to make non-violent manifestations. He was a great black American leader that was able to make all Americans become aware of the equality of the American people without distinction of the colour of their skin. He was assassinated for asserting the rights of his people
It was into this America that Barack Obama was born. He was like his Illinois predecessor the President Abraham Lincoln. Barack Obama has a great love for America. He did not revolt against white Republicans and white Americans who neglected the under privileged Americans. He entered American politics as an American in peace with the whole American people without any conflict..
He believed that it was a united political effort that could pull America out of the mess it had been put into by the Republican Administration of Bush. Like Abraham Lincoln who became the President of America in the midst of the Secessionist crisis. The President Barrack Obama was sworn into an America in a dire financial crisis.
Progress does not come overnight. America had been going through tragedies, and facing problems in different field. It is only a man like President Barack Obama who could bring about the much needed unity of the American people, and bring all forces together to develop the economy, and bring social progress.
Barack Obama did not believe in divisive politics. That he states well in his book “The Audacity of Hope- page 40 ” , “….But for those of us who believe that government has a role to play in promoting opportunity and prosperity for all Americans, a polarized electorate isn’t good enough. Eking out a bare Democratic majority isn’t good enough. What’s needed is a broad majority of Americans- Democrats, Republicans, and independents of goodwill –who are re-engaged in the project of national renewal, and who see their own self-interest as inextricably linked to the interest of other.” That is basically what the President Barrack Obama represents .
He believes that to take America away from what it had been in the past, all political parties should work together now to come out of the political mismanagement of the past. But for the Republicans with their outdated thinking, the unity of the American blacks and whites is irksome.
The Republicans are trying lead the country away from needy towards a politics of the rich, which had not helped in the past, therefore, will not work in the future. The Republicans are racists and a Black American as the President does not receive Republican approval. That is why “unknown persons “ are spending millions on a publicity campaign against President Barack Obama, to bring back the reactionary Republicans in to power.
President Barack Obama already gives a face lift to America, which came to be disliked by a majority of the people the world over. The President Barack Obama changed that repulsive image of America.
Now, if the American Voters would change their attitude toward this new America led by the President Barack Obama , they will not be respected by the people of the world . America will thus lose its credence if it goes back to Republican days, when a different path for thinking as a generous nation to look up to by the rest of the world has been opened by President Barack Obama.
